Biography....

 

Brett Erlich is a comedian, journalist, and political & social satirist.  He is a regular contributor to ABC News, where he has appeared on 20/20, Primetime, Nightline, as well as a number of specials alongside Katie Couric and Barbara Walters.  

 

Recently Brett wrote, hosted, and produced a daily political commentary segment on Current TV's primetime news show The War Room.  On the Internet, Brett is part of The Young Turks--the #1 News & Information channel on Youtube with over 1 billion video views--where he hosts a daily pop culture comedy and commentary show called Pop Trigger. 

 

Prior to that Brett hosted infoMania for Current TV, where he started as a Writer/Associate Producer and eventually became Host/Co-Executive Producer.  During his tenure he interviewed celebrities, hosted and produced field pieces, and wrote segments for himself and fellow cast members.

 

Brett also hosted and produced The Rotten Tomatoes Show, a fast-paced, comedic film criticism show in partnership with the world’s most popular film criticism website.  In addition to reviewing films, he compiled Top 5 Lists, wrote comedic film history segments, and interviewed stars.

 

As a pundit and personality, Erlich has appeared everywhere from cable to broadcast, Internet to radio, including CNN, HLN, ABC, Current TV, various sites among the AOL media empire, and every major radio market in the country.  In 2013, he has already appeared in half a dozen film-themed countdown specials.

 

Brett’s success as a comedian has led to acting appearances in short films, an independent feature (DEAD DAD), as well as the lead in a national commercial spot for the NISSAN JUKE, whose success spawned collaborations with Sports Illustrated, as well as a spinoff series on Funny Or Die. 

 

Brett's work as one of the original cast of Current TV helped earn the network an Emmy Award.  His cross-platform series Viral Video Film School has tens of millions of views and won a 2010 Webby Award.  Brett was also an official 2011 Webby Nominee in the Variety category alongside Ted Talks and Zach Galifianakis’s Between Two Ferns. And in 2013, he as part of The Young Turks Network won an additional Webby. 

 

He hails from Simi Valley, California and attended Stanford University, where he performed in the blues/rock band North of Cuba, with the Stanford Improvisers (SIMPs), founded the Stanford Shakespeare Society, and was a mystery taster for Jack In The Box.

 

Brett has also been a guest on podcasts with Aisha Tyler, the Sklar Brothers, Adam Corolla, and others.
